Estadística de pasajeros de cruceros en España. 1H – 2018 (+23,56%)

La estadística de pasajeros en cruceros en los puertos españoles durante el primer semestre del año 2018 ha ascendido a 4.475.784 pasajeros lo que supone un incremento de +23,56% sobre el primer semestre del año anterior que obtuvo una cifra de 3.622.302 cruceristas.

Los puertos de Barcelona (+20,50%), los de la Autoridad Portuaria de Baleares (+27,78%) y los de la Autoridad Portuaria de Las Palmas y los de Tenerife, +32,87% y +39,62%, respectivamente, lideran el movimiento de cruceristas en España.

Estos c+puertos representan el 79% del total del tráfico en España durante los seis primeros meses de este año.

First phase of Salt Lake City airport redevelopment hits halfway mark

  • The first phase of the biggest construction project in Utah state history, the $3.6 billion redevelopment of Salt Lake City International Airport, is now 50% complete, according to The Salt Lake Tribune.
  • Construction crews have been able to keep most of the work out of passenger and resident view so far, but that should change soon as vertical building and elevated roadway construction progresses. In addition to the roadways, work continues on a new concourse for airplane gates, a new enclosed terminal, a gateway building, a five-story parking garage, a second concourse, motorized walkways and baggage systems. There are currently 1,750 construction workers on the project, with the airport spending approximately $50 million to $70 million each month.
  • The first phase is on track for 2020 completion, at which time the airport’s new south concourse will be the length of seven football fields and will be expanded to the length of 12 football fields after the entire project is built. The second concourse will be about half that long. The second phase includes demolition of the existing airport.

Honduras: Aeropuerto internacional de Palmerola avanza al 33%

El Gobierno de la República y la concesionaria  Palmerola International Airport (PIA), supervisaron los avances de un 33 por ciento en las obras del nuevo Aeropuerto Internacional de Palmerola que será finalizado a principios del año 2020 según estimaciones.

Este nuevo aeropuerto se ubica a 8 kilómetros al Sur de Comayagua que serán mejorados, 75 al Norte de Tegucigalpa y 170 al Sur de San pedro Sula conectando a través de una autopista de cuatro carriles conocida como la CA- 5 Norte, que ofrece seguridad vial y personal hacia esta terminal.

El Aeropuerto de Palmerola proyecta nuevos potenciales hacia diferentes destinos del mundo  como Los Ángeles, Dallas, Atlanta, Houston, Orlando, Fourt Laurderdale, Miami, Mexico city, Washington,New York,Guatemala, El Salvador, Panamá City, Bogotá, entre otros.

New airport to be established in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital

Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation Younis al-Masry said that a new airport larger than the Cairo International Airport will be established in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital.

He announced in Thursday statements to media outlets that he agreed with President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi on establishing this new airport which is expected to be larger and wider than Cairo International Airport, with all the needed facilities attached to guarantee passengers’ comfort.

Currently, experts are working on choosing the most suitable place within the capital for establishing the new airport.

President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi has laid the first stone of the New Administrative Capital in East Cairo in October 2017. With an area of 170,000 feddans , the new capital will include 20 residential areas expected to accommodate 6.5 million people and a road network 650 km in length. The capital was planned to include an international airport and an electric train to link it with the 10th of Ramadan and El-Salam cities.

The New Administrative Capital is located in the area between the Cairo-Suez and Cairo-Ain Sokhna roads, east of the regional ring road. This is roughly 60km from the cities of Suez and Ain Sokhna.

The new capital is planned to be a sustainable city, housing the ministries, parliament, Egyptian Media Production City, presidential palaces, and embassies.

The New Administrative Capital Company is 51% owned by the armed forces and 49% by the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA). The paid-up capital of the company amounts to EGP 20bn, including contributions from the armed forces and NUCA, and the authorized capital is EGP 204bn.
